CUFF MEMBER AND CATHETER WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cuff member which prevents an air hole inside the cuff member from being easily collapsed while the cuff member is arrange inside the living tissue and is capable of being sufficiently integrated with the surrounding living tissue, and to provide a catheter with the cuff member.

SOLUTION: The cuff member 1 is made of a roughly cylindrical porous material having a center hole 2. The porous material has a porous three-dimensional reticular structure which comprises a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin and whose average pore diameter is 100-650 μm and apparent density in a dry state is 0.01-0.1g/cm3. On the outer peripheral surface of the cuff member 1, a plurality of recessed parts 3 are formed at intervals in the circumferential direction. The recessed parts 3 are arranged at roughly equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the cuff member 1. Each recessed part 3 is composed of a groove extending in the cylinder axial line direction of the cuff member 1. In each recessed part 3, the shape on the cross section in a direction orthogonal to the cylinder axial line direction of the cuff member 1 is a roughly chevron shape to be wider on the outer peripheral side of the cuff member 1.
