<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup that prevents an increase in cost for identifying the kind of an optical pickup, without requiring one-to-one correspondence between the kind of the optical pickup and that of a control board having a signal processor to process the reproduced signals from the optical pickup and a controller to control the optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup has a predetermined input port (such as a mode switching port P11) to input control signals (such as mode switching control signals) from the outside, and a voltage setup section (such as a pull-up resistor R1) to set the predetermined input port to the predetermined voltage when no control signal is input to the predetermined input port from the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
