<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve proper display immediately after switching, when a video signal including a stereoscopic video image is switched. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver is equipped with: a decoder 104 for decoding externally received video signals and acquiring, from the layers corresponding to the frames of the video signals, identification information including the format related to the two or three dimensions of the video image; and a backend processor 106 which performs, based on the identification signal, a spatial or temporal scaling of the image data represented by the image signals, and if the format of the video image is switched, switches parameters used for the scaling, in accordance with the timing of the switching of the format. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
