PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a discharge head which is difficult in a conventional droplet discharge apparatus. SOLUTION: The droplet discharge apparatus has: a discharge head 33 having a nozzle discharging liquid in a droplet state; a wiper 23a and a wiper 23b for wiping at least a part of the liquid deposited on the nozzle surface 35 being a surface on which the nozzle of the discharge head 33 is provided; and a displacement device for changing the position of the discharge head 33 to the wiper 23a and the wiper 23b in a state that the discharge head 33 is opposed to the wiper 23a and the wiper 23b; wherein the nozzle surface 35 is separated from the wiper 23a and the wiper 23b with a certain gap 91 in the state the nozzle surface 35 is opposed to the wiper 23a and the wiper 23b.
