PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fall-off preventing mechanism of a propeller shaft which can prevent the fall-off of a split-type propeller shaft in the vicinity of a joint and which has a simple and small structure and general-purpose properties. SOLUTION: For the split-type propeller shaft 10 having a first shaft 11 supported by a chassis frame 2a and a second shaft 12 connected to the first shaft 11 by a joint 31, the fall-off preventing mechanism includes a center bearing 32 which rotatably supports the first shaft 11, a center bearing bracket 33 which supports the center bearing 32 to the chassis frame 2a immediately below the chassis frame 2a, a shaft guard 41 which surrounds the second shaft 12, and a shaft guard bracket 42 which has one end mounted to the center bearing bracket 33 and the other end mounted to the shaft guard 41 and extends beyond a portion of the joint 31 from immediately below the chassis frame 2a.
