The invention relates to a current collector (10) for a fuel cell, the current collector comprising a substantially flat plate (11) having an upper face (12) and a lower face (13), wherein at least the upper face (12) of the plate (11) has at least one recess (14) in which catalyst material (25) is arranged. The current collector is characterised in that the catalyst material (25) has a cross-section that is substantially adapted to the cross-section of the recess (14). The invention also relates to a method for charging such a current collector with catalyst material, wherein a substantially planar current collector (10) is provided, which has at least one three-dimensionally structured upper face (12) having at least one recess for receiving catalyst material (25), and a catalyst material (25) in the form of a flowable medium is introduced through at least one die (26), the orifice (27) of which has a diameter less than the width (b) of the recess (14), into the recess (14) such that the introduced catalyst material (25) can substantially fill in the width (b) of the recess (14) and subsequently solidify. |
