<p>The invention relates to the field of bactericidal sorbent materials for purifying liquids and gases from finely dispersed particles and microbiological pollutants, including for medical use, said sorbent materials having enhanced bactericidal properties while the sorptive properties of the material are maintained. The bactericidal sorbent material comprises at least one base layer made of a non-woven fibrous polymer material with aluminium oxide hydrate particles attached to the fibres thereof, and an inorganic bactericidal component, wherein the inorganic bactericidal component is sorbed on the high-porosity aluminium oxide hydrate particles. A method for producing the material and a method for filtering liquid or gaseous media are also claimed, as well as a medical sorbent for therapeutic and/or hygienic articles, including wound dressings.</p> |
