<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide characteristics suitable for supporting a water tub in a damper for a washing machine. <P>SOLUTION: Inside a cylinder 2 enclosing oil liquid and gas, a piston 3 to which a piston rod 4 is connected is fitted. First and second springs 13, 14 are interposed between a spring receiver 10 fixed to the cylinder 2 and a spring receiver 11 fixed to the piston rod 4, and an intermediate spring receiver 12 between them is guided slidably along the axial direction of the cylinder 2. The first spring 13 is defined as a square spring, and the spring constant is made smaller than that of the second spring. During dewatering activation (during resonance), since the first spring 13 of the small spring constant is brought into inter-line contact and fixed by weight of washing water, an apparent spring constant becomes large and the swing of the water tub is effectively suppressed. When dewatering advances and the washing water is reduced (during normal time), since the fixation at the compression position of the first spring 13 by the inter-line contact is dissolved, the apparent spring constant is reduced and the high frequency vibrations of the water tub are effectively absorbed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
