<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device suppressing power consumption, a method for driving the device, and electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes: a display panel 10 having a display region 10A where a plurality of display pixels 15 containing organic EL elements 11 (11R, 11G, 11B) and pixel circuits 13 are two-dimensionally arranged; and a non-display region 10B where one adjusting pixel 17 containing an organic El element 12 and a pixel circuit 13 is arranged. A power source voltage adjusting circuit 27 sets a value (V<SB>cc</SB>(0)+ΔV) as a newest power source voltage V<SB>cc</SB>with respect to an initially set power source voltage V<SB>cc</SB>(0) (=V<SB>el</SB>(0)+V<SB>ds</SB>(0)) by adding a voltage variation ΔV, which is obtained when a constant current necessary to allow the organic EL element 12 to emit light at the white luminance (highest gradation) is applied to the organic EL element 12.
