<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably generating over a long period, without enlarging a space required for installation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has ion generation function and includes a housing 101, a plurality of conveyance paths 51, 52, and 53, and an ion generation unit 10. The ion generation unit 10 is arranged, in a space sandwiched by sections of the plurality of the conveyance paths 51, 52, and 53 that run in parallel with one another. The ion generation unit 10 includes a duct 11, an ion generation device 12 and a fan 13. The duct 11 forms a flow path through which air intake and exhaust in the width direction of a sheet is performed with respect to the outside of the housing 101.
