PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electric photoreceptor which has uniform thickness of the surface layer, has a stable rugged shape, hardly causes abrasion of the surface layer on the photoreceptor layer due to cleaning with a blade and has a stable durability. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the electric photoreceptor which has at least the photosensitive layer and the surface layer on the surface of a cylindrical conductive base body, a coating liquid for forming the surface layer is applied onto the surface of the photosensitive layer by using an ultrasonic atomizer while the distance from a spray port of the ultrasonic atomizer to the application surface is set to be 20-300 mm.
