<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing dimethyl ether, which has a low pressure loss, the catalytic performance (selectivity or the like) of which is restrained from being deteriorated due to the pressure loss thereof and which is based on alumina and to provide a method for producing dimethyl ether by using the catalyst for producing dimethyl ether. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing dimethyl ether includes a coiled cylindrical material 11 winding spirally at predetermined intervals and supports 12, and has such a shape that each of supports 12 is joined to the coiled cylindrical material 11 along the axial direction thereof, is based on alumina and contains silica and a magnesium element. The method for producing dimethyl ether comprises a step of subjecting methanol to a dehydration reaction in the presence of the catalyst for producing dimethyl ether. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
