IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of a reduced image by accurately displaying a boundary portion such as a line segment individually.

SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is constituted such that: a pixel block setting part sets pixel blocks corresponding to respective pixel positions of the reduced image to an original image; a representative pixel selecting part selects a representative pixel out of pixels included in the pixel block; a detection part detects the pixel constituting a prescribed correction object out of the pixels included in the pixel block; a verification part verifies justness of the representative pixel selected from the pixel block in accordance with the content of the correction object relative to the pixel block in which the pixel constituting the prescribed correction object is detected; a reselecting part selects a new representative pixel out of the pixels included in the pixel block for the pixel block in which the justness of the representative pixel is denied; and a reduced image generating part generates reduced images on the basis of the representative pixel selected from the pixel block by the representative pixel selecting part or the reselecting part.
