<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved display device having flexibility, wherein display reliability can be maintained when the device is curved, by carrying out a display control in accordance with the degree of curvature during curved; and to provide a method for controlling the display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes: a substrate having flexibility; a display unit having a plurality of light-emitting elements arranged on the substrate and displaying an image in accordance with video signals; a displacement sensor, disposed on at least either the top face or the back face of the substrate, for sensing a curved state of the substrate; and a controlling unit for performing a flip control with respect to the image displayed in the display unit when curvature of the substrate is detected by the displacement sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
