<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that is superior in cooling efficiency regarding a cooling system for a stator of a rotary electric machine for driving an electric vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a stator having a tubular stator core 4 and a stator winding wound around the stator core 4; a rotor arranged oppositely to the stator via an air gap; and at least one or more grooves 200 residing in the stator as refrigerant passages extending in the central-axis direction of the stator core 4. The grooves 200 are inclined with respect to the central axis of the stator core 4. Consequently, when the rotary electric machine is horizontally arranged, a vertical height of each refrigerant inlet of the grooves 200 becomes higher than the vertical height of each refrigerant outlet so as to allow a refrigerant to flow therein by utilizing the difference in a height. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
