PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a vehicle to a destination without requiring a large amount of calculations for determining whether a driver can visually spot a target object from the vehicle. SOLUTION: A plurality of visual field boundary points 30, which indicate whether the driver can visually spot the target object from the vehicle, and a position at that time are measured in advance for each facility and stored in a visual field support database. When a landmark facility at an intersection on a travel route 40 or a destination facility on the travel route 40 is designated as the target object, a navigation system chooses a selective visual field boundary point corresponding to the target object and a current location of the vehicle from among the plurality of visual field boundary points 30 in the visual field support database. When the selective visual field boundary point indicates that the driver can visually spot the target object from the vehicle, the navigation system notifies the driver to that effect, thus eliminating a large amount of calculations due to construction of the visual field support database.
