PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which shortens time necessary for being filled with a refrigerant and secures the reliability of the air conditioner, and to provide a method for filling the air conditioner with the refrigerant, and a method for starting the air conditioner. SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes a compressor 2, an indoor heat exchanger 3, an outdoor heat exchanger 4, a switching part 5 for switching the outflow destination of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 to either the indoor heat exchanger 3 or the outdoor heat exchanger 4, throttle parts 31, 41 for reducing the pressure of the refrigerant, a storage part 6 for separating and storing the liquid refrigerant contained in the refrigerant inhaled by the compressor 2, a supply part 51 arranged between the switching part 5 and the storage part 6 to be supplied with the refrigerant inhaled by the compressor 2 from outside, an evaporation pipe 7 introducing at least part of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 2 to a pipe on upstream the storage part 6 while being arranged to pass through the inside of the storage part 6, and an evaporation side adjustment part 71 for adjusting the flow rate of the refrigerant flowing in the evaporation pipe 7.
