PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor capacity control method and a compression device, capable of properly maintaining a cycle of unloading and loading to save energy and elongate service life of the compressor. SOLUTION: The compressor capacity control method includes control for changeover between a loading state to generate compressed fluid to an unloading state not to generate compressed fluid, performs time cycle control such that cycle operation from unloading to loading is performed with a time point when the compressor is switched to the unloading state as a starting time point, and the loading state of the compressor is changed into the unloading state thereof, at a time point when the predetermined time duration has passed from the starting time point, and further performs upper limit pressure control such that the discharge pressure of the compressor is detected so that the loading state of the compressor is changed into the unloading state thereof in a case where the discharge pressure exceeds a prescribed upper limit pressure.
