This invention concerns a device and method enabling the acquisition and subsequent reconstruction of objects with volume over the entire outer surface. This invention is characterised by a particular acquisition method applied to the free-falling object such that there is no supporting surface to hinder acquisition of the surface that would be hidden by said support. It is also characterised by special distribution methods of the cameras which optimise image capture and provide useful information for the subsequent reconstruction of the volume using computerised means.
