<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-piece solid golf ball improving initial velocity of the ball at a low head speed more than conventional one by achieving a higher coefficient of restitution when hitting the golf ball at a very low head speed than when hitting the golf ball at a high head speed. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-piece solid golf ball 1 includes a solid core including an inner layer core 12 and an outer layer core 14, and a cover 30 positioned outside of the solid core. The inner layer core 12 has an outer diameter of 25 mm or less, and is formed of a material having loss tangent (tanδ) of 0.1 or more. The outer layer core 14 is formed of a material having loss tangent (tanδ) of 0.01-0.1.
