PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small hydraulic power generation system for timely taking a countermeasure against swollenness of an irrigation canal, in a small hydraulic power generation system utilizing an irrigation canal. SOLUTION: The small hydraulic power generation system includes: a generator disposed to the irrigation canal; a first elevating device driving to elevate the generator; and a control device connected to the elevating device through a communications line. The control device acquires rainfall information on a basin of the irrigation canal or a water source area of the irrigation canal. When the rainfall within a predetermined time is a predetermined value or larger, the first elevating device is operated to pull the generator out of the irrigation canal, on the other hand, when the rainfall within the predetermined time is smaller than the predetermined value, the first elevating device is operated to put the generator in the irrigation canal.
