摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic display capable of reducing an edge effect by (a) assuring an effect that, during the rewriting of the display, the last period of a non-zero voltage applied to all pixels terminates at substantially the same time, and (b) scanning the display at a scan frequency of at least 50 Hz. SOLUTION: This method is used for driving the electro-optic display having a plurality of pixels capable of being displayed at least at three gray levels. The method includes steps for displaying a first image on the display, and rewriting the display for displaying a second image on the display by applying to each pixel a waveform effective for changing pixels from the initial gray level to the final gray level.
