The current rectifying module (100A), for a polyphase rotary electric machine provided with at least one bearing, includes a part (16-10') having a stepped thickness and comprising: a heat sink (16), the external periphery of which is provided with a base; at least one region for attaching the module to the bearing; and a sole plate (10') for supporting a pair of current rectifying elements (93, 94). When viewed axially, the sole plate (10') is narrower than the heat sink (16). The polyphase rotary electric machine is characterized in that it bears at least two such modules. The invention also relates to the use thereof in a motor vehicle alternator.
