<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet identification device, an automatic transaction apparatus and a paper sheet identification method, for identifying paper sheets based on identification standards determined for each region, to achieve transactions according to regional characteristics in consideration of occurrence frequency or the like of forged paper sheets or damaged paper sheets. <P>SOLUTION: A paper money identification device 11 includes: unique feature sensors 28 to 31 for reading unique information of paper money 40; and a CPU 21 for identifying the denomination and authenticity of the paper money 40 based on the unique information of the paper money 40 read by the unique feature sensors 28 to 31 and previously determined identification standards. The paper money identification device 11 includes: a GPS (Global Positioning System) 18 for acquiring location information of a position on which the device 11 is installed; a ROM 16 for storing regional standard information in which identification standards are determined for each region; and a CPU 15 for performing adjustment to a regional identification standard corresponding to the position information based on the regional standard information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
