PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding mold for an optical element and a method for molding optical elements, upon the production of optical elements, which can easily and also stably perform mold-release for the optical elements. SOLUTION: Regarding a set of molding molds 1 for optical elements having molding faces 2a and 3a having a size larger than the effective size of optical elements, and in which the molding faces 2a and 3a are mutually confronted, at least either mold in a set of the molds, in a molding face, has a level difference 2b provided with a boundary by a discontinuous line whose curvature changes discontinuously from the molding face at the outer circumference of the molding face.
