PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal fitting surely suppressing inclination of a posture of a terminal fitting inserted into a cavity. SOLUTION: The terminal fitting 20 is provided with: a square cylindrical part 23 having at least one part of the outer face being a reference face 25 parallel to an insertion direction to a cavity 11; a tab 21 which is arranged in a more front side than the square cylindrical part 23 and of which the dimension in a direction crossing with the reference face 25 is smaller than the square cylindrical part 23; and a connection part 22 for connecting a front end of the square cylindrical part 23 with a backward end of the tab 21. The terminal fitting 20 gets a stable posture in the cavity 11 by making the reference face 25 come into contact with an inner face of the cavity 11. The terminal fitting 20 has a regulating face 29 which is arranged in a position to correspond to the connection part 23 in a back and forth direction and is located on the same plane as the reference face 25.
