摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide strain measurement device and method of strain measurement which uses such a device, and in particular, a strain measurement device which uses carbon nanotubes, and to provide a method of strain measurement which uses such a device. SOLUTION: A strain measurement device includes a strain gauge, a holding device, a transverse strain recorder and a data processing device. In the strain measurement device, the strain gauge includes a substrate and a carbon nanotube film structure formed on the substrate. The carbon nanotube film structure is made of a plurality of carbon nanotubes; some of the plurality of carbon nanotubes are aligned in a first direction, and the other of the plurality of carbon nanotubes are aligned in a second direction; and the angle between the first direction and the second direction is in a range of 0 to 90 degrees (excludes 0 degree).
