<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve OCP and current control precisely by simplifying hardware for detecting a current without increasing the capacities of a power device and a motor. <P>SOLUTION: The motor 4 is driven by supplying an output from a three-phase inverter circuit 3 to the motor 4. When a current detecting function and an overcurrent protecting function are given to control the three-phase inverter circuit 3, a motor phase current is feedback-controlled and a maximum value of a current instruction to be supplied to a current control system is limited.
