<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a bearing ring, which can uniformly form a quench-hardened layer in the whole rolling face along the perimeter by induction hardening while suppressing a manufacturing cost of a quenching apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the bearing ring of a rolling bearing includes: a step (S10) of preparing a molded body which is constituted by a steel including 0.43-0.65% carbon, 0.15-0.35% silicon, 0.60-1.10% manganese, 0.30-1.20% chromium, 0.15-0.75% molybdenum and the balance iron with impurities; a step (S30) of relatively rotating an induction-heating member along the circumferential direction of an annular region, which is arranged so as to face a part of the annular region that becomes the rolling face of the bearing ring in the molded body and induction-heats the molded body to form an annular heated region which has been heated to a temperature of a point A<SB>1</SB>or higher in the molded body; and a step (S40) of cooling the whole heated region at the same time to a temperature of a point M<SB>S</SB>or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
