<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass which is suitably used for the transmission of light even after being exposed to X-rays, and has a high refractive index, although lead being an environmental pollutant is not contained. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass has a composition expressed in terms of oxide, containing, by mass, 1.0% to 60.0% of an SiO<SB>2</SB>component, and one or more selected from the group consisting of an La<SB>2</SB>0<SB>3</SB>component, a ZrO<SB>2</SB>component, a TiO<SB>2</SB>component, an Nb<SB>2</SB>0<SB>5</SB>component, and a Ta<SB>2</SB>0<SB>5</SB>component as essential components, based on the glass total mass. The optical glass has a refractive index (n<SB>d</SB>) of 1.50 or greater, and has a light intensity recovery rate of 45% or greater when exposed to X-rays at a dose of 2.5 Gy and then to a xenon lamp for 11 hours. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
