PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake control device capable of restraining heating of a non-excitation actuated electromagnetic brake possessed by a servomotor, in the servomotor for driving an arm of an articulated robot. SOLUTION: Motors 21-26 for driving a driving shaft are arranged in respective joints of the articulated robot, and a CPU 30 controls braking of the driving shaft by the non-excitation actuated electromagnetic brakes 21b-26b possessed by its respective motors 21-26. The CPU 30 maintains a state of releasing the braking of the driving shaft while executing ON-OFF control for repeatedly turning on and off voltage impression on excitation coils 21c-26c of the electromagnetic brakes 21b-26b in a period for releasing the braking of the driving shaft.
