PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a conveying roller, which enhances the roundness of a cylindrical shaft which is a bent metal plate used as a conveying roller. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a conveying roller which is cylindrically formed by facing a pair of edge faces 34 and 35 of a metal plate 30 includes a step of bending the metal plate 30 along the periphery of a core member 208 which is a near round bar and facing the pair of edge faces 34 and 35 to form a cylindrical roller, with the core member 208 accompanied by a notch 208b which is a notched section of the periphery 208a of the core member 208 corresponding to the pair of edge faces 34 and 35.
