PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for protecting fish eggs and fries, which inherits merits of a conventional apparatus for protecting fish eggs and fries and, on the whole, easily and safely protects fish eggs and fries in a fresh water environment. SOLUTION: The apparatus for protecting fish eggs and fries includes an egg laying box 1, a protection enclosure 2 for protecting fish eggs and fries, which the egg laying box 1 is inserted into and attached to, and a mounting tool 3 for attaching a protection apparatus to a water tank 100. The egg laying box 1 has water permeable holes and a fish egg passage hole to the protection enclosure 2. The protection enclosure 2 includes a water-permeable peripheral wall essentially consisting of a net 24 for preventing fry passage and a bottom plate 22 for closing the lower end part of a region enclosed by the peripheral wall.
