PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for exactly diagnosing the state of fault of an information processing device in a vehicle. SOLUTION: The fault diagnostic device is employed for diagnosing the state of fault of an onboard information processing system wherein the information processing device and a display device in the vehicle are electrically connected, so that a user can confirm the contents of processing performed by the onboard information processing device, through the display device. The diagnosis device includes a first display part for displaying device-side information representing an operation state of the information processing device associated with device-side time information to be used in the information processing device by the device itself, and a second display part for displaying at least a display screen of the display device and an image for fault diagnosis photographed by a camera which photographs an operation state of the information processing device by the user. The first display part and the second display part are provided in parallel so that the user can compare them, and the device-side information in the first display part and the image for fault diagnosis in the second display part are displayed, while being mutually synchronized in the point of elapsed time.
