PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorinated polyether with excellent heat stability, storage stability, and solubility in solvents, with excellent effect to improve close adhesion of coatings, ink, and adhesives to polyolefin, being a promising flame retardant, and also useful as a new raw material for polyurethane. SOLUTION: The chlorinated polyether copolymer contains 1-99 mol% of a structural unit A represented by formula 1 and includes a structural unit B represented by formula 2 (R<SB>1</SB>is a hydrogen atom or a CH<SB>2</SB>Cl group) and/or an ethylene glycol unit C not having a halogen atom in a side chain.
