METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF DISEASES BASED ON IGA HINGE O-LINKED SUGAR CHAIN STRUCTURE

Disclosed is a disease determination method for determining whether or not a subject is suffering from a disease based on the number of N-acetylgalactosamine molecules bound in a hinge O-linked sugar chain of IgA isolated from a body fluid of the subject. Examples of the disease that can be determined by the method include inflammatory bowel disease and IgA nephropathy. The method has low invasiveness and can determine the occurrence of the disease objectively.
