PURPOSE: A defrost sensing apparatus of an evaporator for an air conditioner is provided to detect a correct defrost operation time without sensing error to remarkably reduce power consumption and improve cooling efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A defrost sensing apparatus of an evaporator for an air conditioner comprises a communicating pipe(310), a connection pipe(320), a heater(50), and a sensing unit(330). The communicating pipe communicates inside and outside of the evaporator. The connection pipe is connected to one side of the communicating pipe. The heater heats the communicating pipe. The sensing unit comprises a body(332), a diaphragm(333), and a switch member. The body comprises a vent connected to the connection pipe, an external air inlet, and a space communicated with the vent and inlet. The diaphragm is included in the space of the body and rises according to suction force acting on the vent. The switch member is switched according to the rising of the diaphragm. A suction force adjusting element controlling suction force acting on the diaphragm is set on the body of the sensing unit.
