SCHEME FOR IPV6 ADDRESS COLLECTION USING MAC INFORMATION IN LOCAL LINK IPV6 ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: A method for collecting an ipv6 address using MAC information in a local link IPv6 environment is provided to collect the MAC address and prefix information of a host using an MLD(Multicast Listener Discovery) protocol. CONSTITUTION: An IPv6 router searches whether a multicast receiver exists on a connected link using an MLD protocol. The IPv6 router obtains hosts subscribed to a specific multi caser group address using the MLD protocol. A network router and an administrator can collect the MAC addresses and prefix information of the hosts using the MLD protocol.
