<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which attains reduction in the standby power. <P>SOLUTION: A power-supply voltage supplied to a circuit constituting an integrated circuit is controlled with a switching element, by using, as the switching element, a transistor having an oxide semiconductor as an active layer. More specifically, when the circuit is in operation, the power-supply voltage is supplied to the circuit by way of the switching element; and when the circuit is stopped, the supply of power-supply voltage to the circuit is stopped by the switching element. The circuit to which the power-supply voltage is supplied includes one or a plurality of semiconductor elements as a minimum unit constituting the integrated circuit, such as a transistor, a diode, a capacitative element, a resistive element, and an inductance formed by using a semiconductor. The semiconductor in the semiconductor element includes silicon having crystallinity (crystalline silicon), and more specifically, microcrystalline silicon, polysilicon, or monocrystalline silicon. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
