<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel which improves the sealing performance, increases strength and rigidity, and achieves low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A seal 8 is structured with an integrated type of a seal made up of a metal core 12 and a seal member 13 vulcanized and stuck to the metal core 12 integrally. The metal core is formed integrally of: a cylindrical part 12a, which is press-fitted to the outer circumference of an end of an outer member 5; a flange part 12b, which extends radially inward and closely contacts the end surface 5c of the outer member 5; an inner diameter part 12c, which extends from this part bending radially inward; and a disk-shaped gate part 14, which protrudes radially outward from the cylindrical part 12a. The seal member 13 integrally includes: a side lip 13a and a dust lip 13b, which extend radially outward at a slant; and a grease lip 13c, which extends at a slant toward the inside of the bearing. The side lip 13a and a dust lip 13b are made to slidably contact a base part 6b of a wheel-attachment flange 6 via prescribed gaps therebetween in the axial direction, and the grease lip 13c is also made to slidably contact the base part 6b via a prescribed gap therebetween in the radial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
