<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical position detection device in which part of inspection light emitted from a light source part is monitored as blank light having constant intensity irrespective of the presence of an object body so that it is used for setting a driving condition at the light source part and in which such blank light does not hinder the position detection of the object body, and to provide a hand device including the same and a display device with a position detection function. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical position detection device 10, the light source part 11 emits the inspection light L2 to form light intensity distribution in a detection area 10R. Position detection reflected light L3 reflected on the object body Ob is detected by a first photodetector 30. Further, a second photodetector 60 on which the position detection reflected light L3 reflected on the object body Ob is not incident is provided. The blank light L0 not through the detection area 10R is incident on such a second photodetector 60.
