METHOD FOR WARNING REAR TRAVELING VEHICLE BASED ON VIDEO IMAGES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for avoiding a collision or contact with a front traveling vehicle of a rear traveling vehicle during traffic congestion in a highway based on video images. SOLUTION: This method includes a step (S2) for receiving images of a rear road from a video camera installed in a rearmost vehicle (front traveling vehicle) in traffic congestion (S1) in the highway, a step (S3) for determining a danger of the collision of the front traveling vehicle and the rear traveling vehicle from the images, a step (S4) for warning a driver of the rear traveling vehicle by flickering a hazard lamp when determining the existence of the danger, and a step (S6) for turning OFF the hazard lamp when the danger is eliminated (S5).
