PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery facilitating arrangement of positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the secondary battery. The secondary battery includes a case including a body with a containing part and a cover sealing the body, and an electrode assembly housed in the containing part. The electrode assembly includes: first electrode plates each having a coated part coated with a first active material and a non-coated part not coated with the first active material; second electrode plates each having a coated part coated with a second active material; and separators each interposed between the first and second electrode plates. The first electrode plate, the separator, and the second electrode plate are laminated in order and the first and second electrode plates are the same as each other in area.
