PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus for inkjet recording with a relatively simpler structure that maintains stable ejection to a recording head during recording without having conspicuous image noises, and to provide a data processing method. SOLUTION: The data processing apparatus adjusts the number and position of preliminary ejection that is ejected by each nozzle on a sheet according to non-recording time of each nozzle and ambient recording density.
