PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometer for proteome analysis improved in efficiency of practical protein identification. SOLUTION: In an orthogonal acceleration type ion trap-coupled time-of-flight mass spectrometer, a unit for reducing speed distribution of ions emitted from an ion trap is installed, thereby, the mass-to-charge ratio range that can be analyzed at one time is expanded.
