PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a size adjustment mechanism usable for a fashion item whose appearance design is regarded as extremely important. SOLUTION: The size adjustment mechanism for a cap comprises: a cap size-adjusting belt 3 one end of which is fixed to the back part of a cap body 2 to be horizontally set up; and a slide adjuster 8 which is connected to the other end of the belt to be fixed to the side part of the cap body. The slide adjuster comprises a band and a buckle 20 each made of synthetic resin. The engagement nail of the buckle is engaged with a sawtooth-like engagement groove formed on the outer surface of the band, and the band freely comes close to the buckle but is impossible to get back in such an engaged condition, so that the band is joined to the other end of the belt, and the buckle is fixed between a sweat band and the cap body.
