PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of improving an S/N ratio and enlarging a dynamic range. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a column amplifier (102) for outputting a first pixel signal amplified by the amplifying factor of p times and a second pixel signal amplified by the amplifying factor of q times different from p times for the signal of the same pixel; a column AD converter (121) for converting the first pixel signal and the second pixel signal amplified by the column amplifier from analog to digital; a replacing unit (122) for selecting the first pixel signal converted by the column AD converter when the first pixel signals converted by the column AD converter is smaller than a threshold, and selecting the second pixel signal converted by the column AD converter when the first pixel signal converted by the column AD converter is equal to or larger than the threshold; and a horizontal scanning circuit (104) for successively selecting the first pixel signal or second pixel signal of each column selected by the replacing unit.
