PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of joining a metal to a resin which enables integration of a metal with a resin by treating only the surface of a part of a metal to be joined with a resin. SOLUTION: The method is for joining a resin 4 to the surface 1a of a metal plate 1 and comprises irradiating, with plasma 2, a part of the surface 1a of the metal plate 1 to be joined with the resin 4, applying a molten resin 4 to the part of the surface 1a irradiated with the plasma 2 and pressing the resultant body to join the metal plate 1 and the resin 4 together. The temperature for irradiation of the plasma 2 may be feedback-controlled by detecting the surface temperature of the metal plate 1 and being based on the surface temperature detected.
