PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus simulating improvement in appearance beauty of the skin of a subject in a natural state. SOLUTION: An image obtaining part 110 obtains an original image of the skin of the subject, which includes a plurality of kinds of component images. A hemoglobin extraction part 120 extracts a hemoglobin component image as one of the component images from the obtaind original image. An image processing part 130 smoothes the pixel intensity of at least partial region of the extracted hemoglobin component image. A component replacement part 140 replaces the hemoglobin component image whose pixel intensity is smoothed with the hemoglobin component image of the original image.
