Disclosed is a battery wherein deactivation can be forestalled by preventing the deposition of a solid substance on an electrode. Specifically disclosed is a battery which is characterized in that a first aqueous electrolyte layer and a positive electrode are arranged in this order on one side of an anion conductor, that a second aqueous electrolyte layer and a negative electrode are arranged in this order on the other side of the anion conductor, that the negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material layer, and that the negative electrode active material layer contains a negative electrode active material that is capable of releasing metal ions during the discharge of the battery. |
